About this blog

I have assumed that the “About” page is a great place to post what might be considered a “mission statement”.

When someone is just starting out in a cut-throat market (like myself), they need to take advantage of every free method of marketing/advertising available. I’ve never written a blog before, but like the old sating goes, it’s never too late to start. In the process I just might disprove the adage of “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”

I encourage the readers of this blog to contribute anything factual that they can to help educate the public to the pros and cons of every type of hurricane protection that’s available. Please fight the urge to badmouth on here – it’s not a “bitch board”. There are web sites and forums designed specifically for that so please do it there. I would like to keep this blog informative and “real”.

The product doesn’t even have to be commercially available – you may have a neat invention of your own that is an even better mousetrap. My only request is that if you post a type of hurricane protection, please state plainly a disclaimer as to the products hurricane approval/non-approval status. The state of Florida is pretty clear about what can or cannot be touted as a hurricane protection product in this state. If you don’t believe me, just ask the window film folks.

I will be posting links to comparison charts, newspaper articles and the like that will help give the readers some insight as to what is available. You will not, however, see the Evolution Hurricane Shutter on ANY of these charts. The product is too new and so multifaceted that a chart wouldn’t even come close to making all of the comparisons and benefits of the product.

Again, contribute when you can and stay tuned for more information. IMHO, an educated consumer is the best kind of consumer to be.
